But in reality, the options are very few and far between. This means that the options do exist so it's just a matter of finding them. Join groups of like minded individuals. It's time to change. It's time to see change. That is the mission of the Focus on the Community Foundation and the work to be change agents for the differently-abled community . This community has been marginalized and given less than back burner treatment for far too long. The complaints are all too familiar from mothers, fathers and families who have differently-abled citizens within their homes. They feel left out... They feel frustrated... And very often, they do not see a light at the end of the tunnel If there is a child with cerebral palsy or with down syndrome, what options do they have for education, employment or even everyday activities? The answer to the latter, is Focus on the Community Foundation. There was a need that was not being met and the Foundation was formed to provide those solutions.
